Why this one
Resolutions do not have to wait for March. One drafted in November is one that actually gets filed inside the thirty minute window at convention.
Copy this and fill in the brackets
WHEREAS, [one factual statement you can source]; WHEREAS, [a second factual statement, same test]; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that [specific body] should [specific action], by [date or session]. Submitted by [your name], Precinct [number], [county] County.
Three things that make it work
- One subject only. A resolution that does three things gets amended into nothing.
- Every factual claim should be something you can source on request.
- It has to read well when your opponent reads it aloud. It will happen.
