Condemning Fatherlessness and Governmental Policies Impelling It
The Republican Party of Texas condemns the epidemic of fatherlessness and all officials, agencies, courts, and entities, including family courts, Child Protective Services, and the Office of the Attorney General’s Child Support Division, that impel it through biased enforcement, perverse incentives, and failure to implement parenting time adjustments in child support guidelines. These practices violate due process and equal protection under the United States and Texas Constitutions, pervert the RPT Preamble and Principles 5 and 6 on traditional families and personal responsibility, undermine the Parents’ Rights, Family Law, and Health and Human Services planks, and defy our mission to protect children and families. We demand presumptive shared parenting as the default, fair parenting time adjustments in child support, rejection of Title IV-D incentives, and invocation of Rule 44 to censure Republicans who support or fail to oppose these family-destroying systems.
